Once again events celebrating rural life and community through Day of the Region will showcase a range of our region’s talent this year!
This year four communities are participating in this exciting opportunity to strengthen community ties and increase community spirit. From North West Dumfries and LGBT Plus to Palnackie and Newton Stewart – variety, diversity and sharing are at the heart of each event. Watch this space as well as social media to find out about the details for each event.
As in previous years Day of the Region ventures are organised by working groups of local volunteers. Each participating community and everyone is encouraged to get involved. Much planning and organizing has been going on, so please support the communities. Events are FREE to attend and participate in!
Day of the Region has been a strategic project by Dumfries and Galloway LEADER Local Action Group (LAG) and has been delivered in the region every year since 2011. Day of the Region provides an important opportunity to celebrate and animate rural communities in Dumfries and Galloway. It gives vital support to local ‘grassroots’ and community-led initiatives. However, this is the last year that Day of the Region will be delivered in this format since the UK is leaving the EU.
