Day of the Region 2016

Dates are confirmed for Day of the Region 2016 celebrations across Dumfries & Galloway in September.

Now in its sixth year, Day of the Region provides an opportunity for community groups, organisations and individuals with an interest or skill to come together and promote what is available in their area during a concentrated weekend of FREE activities celebrating rural community life.

Local volunteer working groups in Annan, Glentrool & Bargrennan, Kirkconnel & Kelloholm, Lochmaben, Sanquhar and the ARC (Adult Activity and Resource Centre) in Stranraer are busy finalising plans for their special Day of the Region events.

These include pony rides, craft workshops, face-painting, sailing and tennis sessions, cycling courses, cooking demos, town bands, local dancers, school choirs, guided walks, heritage displays, BBQs and even a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party!
